An Early Look At Rihanna’s Super Bowl Wardrobe
After making a surprise appearance at the Golden Globes with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, Rihanna has hinted at her upcoming Super Bowl half-time performance and the associated fashion talking points.
Rihanna wore a bespoke Schiaparelli gown and Cartier jewels, while A$AP wore Bottega Veneta suiting.
The mysterious video clip, which she posted on Instagram, begins with a collection of show-related news bulletins before her song “Needed Me” comes on. It sets the stage for her headlining performance in February, one of the most prestigious and sought-after roles in entertainment.
In this first glimpse of her Super Bowl outfit, Rihanna is dressed in a black halter-neck stirrup jumpsuit, stilettos, and a canary-yellow coat by New York-based label Area that is covered in studs. She also sports two pairs of jewelled hoops earrings and a hefty chain necklace with gothic cross pendants.
Creating Rihanna’s “Princess-Leia-meets-Hollywood-meets-Wakanda” braids for the Golden Globes was her longtime hairdresser and colleague Yusef Williams. Williams also designed another stunning sculptural hairstyle for the Super Bowl teaser.
Fans are as eager to watch Rihanna take the field at the State Farm Stadium on February 12 as they are for her new song, according to the comments section of the megastar’s Instagram post (she last released an album in 2016). Jerrod Carmichael said, “Rihanna, you take all the time you want on that record, girl,” during the Golden Globes.
